“Organizing is a journey not a destination. It’s like a fitness routine. You don’t lose 20 pounds by going to the gym once. It takes commitment. A mind and life shift is required to reach your desired destination. But the effort is always worth it because it ends up improving every aspect of your life.”
This is the insight of Michelle Kuiken, Professional Organizer and Productivity Coach, owner of The Proper Place. She has a passion for helping women create a life to function best for their life-stage. She uses her skills of organizing, listening, and compassion to help others restore order to their homes, lives, and minds. She believes that life is easier and there is peace of mind, when everything has a place and a purpose.
The Proper Place is celebrating its five-year anniversary this year! Over the 5 years, The Proper Place has grown beyond basic organizing in homes, into a service that educates regionally, partners with families, coaches around productivity, and organizes with true compassion. "I started the business because I have a passion for helping others, but I am amazed that it has been used to transform the mindset of women and families…that working toward more order in their homes will mean more time for life's coveted priorities. Less really does feel like more."
The 5-year milestone was acknowledged by the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO) www.napo.net with ‘The Golden Circle’ designation. The designation recognizes The Proper Place’s dedication to the productivity industry and commitment to staying current with industry trends, education, and advancements. Michelle an active member of NAPO and honored to be a part of an outstanding and expanding career field.
Michelle continues to improve her business model and the services she offers to clients. In 2018 Michelle graduated from the Coach Approach for Organizers Foundation Program and is working toward ICF credentials. Since graduating, The Proper Place has expanded its business offerings to offer Productivity Coaching nationwide. “The coaching has transformed the way I work with clients. It gives me more tools to help my clients have more long-term success. It allows me help them not just ‘fix’ their problem, but discover the root of what’s really getting them stuck. Coaching helps them to be more mindful. They can be more productive in their home and work, and also have a more balanced life.”
